FIRST WEEK (Jan. 17 - 23, 2019)

A. UNSYIAH WARM WELCOME

The Universitas Syiah Kuala gave us a warm welcome. Dr. Muhammad Hasan and the two student buddies fetched us from the Sultan Iskandar International Airport going to the University. The next day, we were formally welcomed in the Opening Ceremony. Orientation was also conducted during the ceremony.

B. VENTURING ON GOJEC!

Sir Jay-Jay (my school mate and also a SEA Teacher) and I ventured on Gojec, an application service convenient to avail when we want to order for food, order for transportation, and even laundry. We tried to order in KFC Lamnyong. At first, we had a hard time ordering on Gojec because some of the people are non-English speakers. Google Translation was of high use that time. I am glad when we successfully ordered at KFC with full convenience.

C. COMMEMORATION OF PROPHET MOHAMMAD

Dr. Muhammad Hasan invited us in his house to commemorate the Islam prophet Muhammad. We ate a lot of Acehnese traditional food.

D. AN UNEXPECTED DINNER

Nasi Uduk was an unexpected dinner for me because it is my first time having a rice with an unfamiliar taste. Aside from that, spicyness and crunchiness dominated my dinner meal.

E. EATING THE GRILLED

Ayam Bakar or Grilled Chicken was a signature dish in several parts of Indonesia, but Aceh's food is more traditional. I noticed how food restaurants prepare for food plating like they devote so much effort on it just to make it presentable when served.
